Katy Heritage has been with Carlsbad Seaside Academy (formerly Carlsbad Alternative School) since its inception in September, 1998. Primarily a mathemathics teacher, she also has a secondary teaching credential in physical sciences. Katy was a home/hospital teacher with the Carlsbad Unified School District for 22 years before starting with CSA. Because of this experience, she is very familiar with all curriculum that the school offers. In addition to having 39 full-time students, and 30+ CHS students taking 50 independent subjects with Seaside, Katy has one-and-a-half hour weekly labs in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. She also holds two-hour tutorials in Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 and higher math each week.
